At just 15 years old, Paige Hiles is already a multi-time national cheerleading champion — and now, the St Clement Danes School student is setting her sights on global success.
Paige has been selected to join the prestigious Surrey Starlets International Open Non-Tumble Level 6 team, one of the UK’s elite cheer programmes. She will fly to Orlando, Florida, next year to compete at the 2026 Cheerleading World Championships.
Cheerleading, one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, combines high-speed acrobatics, stunts, dance, and precision teamwork. At the highest level, flyers — like Paige — are launched as high as 15 feet into the air, executing complex aerial stunts before being caught by their teammates.
Paige said: “It’s an honour to be chosen as a flyer in this division. Level 6 Non-Tumble is one of the most respected categories in the sport — the competition is fierce and full of the world’s best athletes. I’m so excited, but also nervous!”
Having begun her cheerleading journey at the age of seven, Paige has worked her way up through the ranks, competing across Europe and the United States. Her dedication and talent have earned her multiple national titles and recognition as one of the UK’s rising stars in the sport.
Paige’s ultimate ambition is to compete in the Olympic Games, as cheer is now recognised by the International Olympic Committee as a sport and could be included in the 2032 Olympics.
