A popular pub was broken into by thieves recently which sent shockwaves through the village.
Thieves broke into The Stag, Chorleywood through the conservatory window and door during the morning of Monday, September 9.
After failing to steal money out of the till which they broke, the thieves stole the tips left from the Sunday and a few coins after being spooked by the intruder alarm.
A post on the pub’s Facebook page urged the community to get together and stop crime in the village.
It read: “A few of our neighbours saw them running towards the garage. If anyone has any information, please do let us or the police know.
“Please spread the word and let other businesses and our lovely community to be alert and safe. We are analysing the CCTV at present.
“Let’s work together to reduce crime in our Chorleywood. Regards – The Stag.”
Herts Police have confirmed “a man was seen running from the scene towards the town centre. This incident is still under investigation.”
