A local resident is sharing her frustration after noticing a rise in dog poo bags littered around Garston Park.
Garston Park is one of Watford’s great green spaces, and features a children’s playground, outdoor gym, skate park, table tennis tables, and football pitch.
Not only is the area enjoyed by two legged residents, but the vast green space is a hot spot for dogs, who can often be seen running around and enjoying the open space.
However, social media has seen a rise in posts from residents sharing their frustration over dog poo bags being left on the ground, rather than designated bins.
Resident Sandra Hawkins said: “To all who use Garston Park to dog walk… please put your dog poo bags in the bin.
“I walked there this morning and there were six bags on the path by the bin. Laziness and disrespectful. It takes two seconds to put them in [the bin and] not on floor.”
Her post was met with comments from other residents also sharing their anger.
One said: “Very lazy, there are loads of bins or take it home!”
Watford Council shared advice to residents on their social media last month, asking for residents to clean up after their dogs.
The post said: “Please also use the bins provided throughout the park. Don’t leave rubbish in overflowing bags next to bins – foxes tear these apart, scattering litter everywhere.
“We’ve had reports of dumped waste, which can be harmful to the local wildlife and dogs being walked in the park. Please make sure you dispose of all rubbish responsibly.”
