Published on: 24th April 2024   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man in connection with damage to police cars at Abbots Langley police station on Saturday, April 20.

The incident occurred between 3am and 4am. The car bonnets and windscreens of two marked police vehicles and one unmarked police vehicle were subject to damage, and their door handles were tampered with.

Daniel O’Brien, 27, of no fixed address, is charged with three charges of criminal damage and three counts of vehicle interference.  He has since been released on bail ahead of a court appearance at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on May 7.

The suspect was quickly identified and arrested in the same day, and then subsequently charged in connection with the incident.

Sergeant Jon Brown, of the Three Rivers Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Unfortunately, this criminal damage has taken three police vehicles off the road until they are repaired.

“Fortunately, we have still been able to continue our proactive patrols in the area.”
