Abbots Langley Parish Council (ALPC) has invited residents to come along to this year’s V80 Picnic in the Park, held at the Manor House Grounds on Saturday, July 12.
Held to mark the 80-year anniversary of the end of the Second World War, residents can look forward to hearing live 1940s and 1950s jazz and swing music, and seeing war exhibits courtesy of Warner Bros. and the Lincolnsfields Centre.
Councillor Jane Lay, chairman of ALPC, said: “Please come and enjoy this wonderful community event to celebrate the end of two great wars and the return of our very brave soldiers.
“We have tried to provide the enjoyment for you all, listening and dancing to the Bushey and District Jazz Ensemble playing 1940s music with singers, swing dancers, and finishing off the day with a disco.
“There will be ice cream sellers, as well as various food stalls and bars. Bring along your blankets, chairs and picnics to have a really good day.”
The event will run from 1.30pm to 9.30pm and is free for all to attend.
