Christ Church in Chorleywood is continuing to support international projects, thanks to its Lazarus Fund.
The Lazarus Fund collects money to support specific projects, and Christ Church is currently supporting Bethany Church in Chișinău, Moldova. The church and the wider community have been supporting Bethany Church’s work in feeding and housing refugees from Ukraine, who are coming into the already financially dependent area.
Speaking to CHORLEYWOODnews, finance secretary and church buildings manager Sarah Wright said: “Our appeal will help Bethany Church purchase new kitchen equipment, which is badly needed to enable the church to continue catering for Ukrainian refugees as well as others in need.
“Christ Church has supported Bethany Church for many years and provided financial support some 12 years ago to fund the existing kitchen equipment. This now needs replacing after the preparation of an estimated 20,000-plus cooked meals for over 9,000 Ukrainians, in addition to thousands of meals for others needing help.”
