Police are investigating an incident in Hemel Hempstead where a woman was hit by a pellet believed to be from a BB gun or air rifle.
It happened in Chaulden Terrace at 9.20pm on Friday, July 31.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was sitting in her living room with the patio doors open when she felt something hit her leg, causing bruising and swelling.
She then found a small pellet on her living room floor and called police.
The woman took to social media and said she believes they may have been targeting her cat.
She wrote: “Tonight we were sitting in our living room with the back door open due to the heat and my cat came running in, at the very same time I was hit by something in the leg, I immediately felt a burning pain and just knew I’d been hit by something.
“Without thinking, I ran out the house and into the alley, I was blinded by a torch, I ran out of the front and around but whoever it was they were already gone. I got back to the house and found the pellet on my living room floor. Someone is out there and they are targeting animals, or us?”
Officers are investigating and ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at the time of the incident, or has any further information, to call 101 quoting reference 41/60635/20.
