Multiple properties in Northchurch, near Berkhamsted, have been affected by a fire on Thursday (August 6) with at least nine fire engines fleeing to the area.

A 100m cordon was put in place as a precaution and people were asked to please avoid the area.

Dacorum Borough Council released a statement saying: “We are aware of a fire that has affected a number of properties in Berkhamsted this afternoon.

“We have staff on the ground who are coordinating with blue-light and emergency services and are working with affected residents for temporary accommodation and support.”

A GoFundMe page was set up by Michael Lee for the families that have been affected by the fire and has already raise more than £3,000.

One donor commented, saying: “Can’t even begin to imagine. The whole community are here to help.”

Another read: “Absolutely devastating. Everyone in Northchurch wishes you well.”
