Kings Langley FC continued their fine run of form with a comfortable 1-3 win over fellow midtable side Hednesford Town FC this afternoon (Saturday, February 8).
The home side, who haven’t lost since Boxing Day, took control of the BetVictor Southern Premier Central match in the 25th minute through Stevie Ward.
He picked up a loose ball in the box and rounded a defender before lifting the ball expertly over Town’s ‘keeper.
The ball may have been helped height-wise by a deflection from an incoming defender… though we’re sure Ward would deny it.
Jordan Parkes doubled the lead 12 minutes later, using expert skill to create space for himself and conjuring up a clinical strike to make it two.
Stevie Ward then doubled his tally in the 40th minute with a great half-volley across the face of goal.
The midfielder capitalised on the opposition defence’s inability to clear their lines, letting the ball run across him on the ride side of the goal and sweeping it home into the left corner.
The Lango looked out of sight, but the home side responded well just before half time, claiming a goal from a rebound.
The second half was uneventful but well managed by the away side, who now leapfrog Hednesford and Banbury United to go 10th in the league.
