Amersham Town Council (ATC) has confirmed a project to replace and enlarge the playground at Hervines Park.
The design of the new equipment was selected after an extensive public consultation.
In August last year, residents could review three designs and submit their thoughts through an online survey.
The new park incorporates inclusive play equipment, aiming to suit all abilities.
Setting the scene and providing a relaxing place for a pit stop will be picnic benches and additional landscaping.
Funding will come from ATC’s reserves, supplemented by a £20,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, which is being used to purchase some of the inclusive play equipment.
The existing playground closed from Monday, March 10, and installation work began on Monday, March 31.
It is expected to reopen by the middle of May.
