A Garston-based charity is travelling to Ukraine this Christmas to give supplies and support to those in need.
Food For All UK will be travelling to Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and finally Mykolayiv and Kherson during their seventh tour of Ukraine.
Local people have boxed up more than 100 presents to give to children who have been affected by the conflict.
The charity is also appealing for help from the public to enable them to purchase 15 small generators, kitchen equipment, ovens and basic food ingredients. The estimated cost is around £35,000.
A spokesperson said: “We need a mobile kitchen for the Polish border; it can take up to 14 hours for the refugees to cross the border, in freezing conditions. We need to greet them with hot food and transport.”
