A Rickmansworth amateur dramatics group announced last month that they had raised more than £1,600 for charity in connection with their recent performance of Calendar Girls.
The Rickmansworth Players always pick a charity to fundraise for in tandem with their latest production, and this year, long-time member Lena Waugh chose the Cancer Treatment and Research Trust (CTRT).
Much like the characters in the show, members of the Players decided to bear all for a nearly naked calendar to be sold at the production, which took place at Watersmeet Theatre last November.
Cast member Nicola Walker also hand-crocheted a sunflower blanket, for which there was a prize draw held at the performance.
The calendar and the prize draw together raised more than £1,600 for the CTRT team at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood.
Eluned Wallace, chair of Rickmansworth Players, said: “I’m delighted by the response to our fundraising this year and would like to thank everyone for getting behind such a well-deserving cause.”
