Chalfont St Peter Kindness Club held their fourth community clothing sale in February, raising money for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
It was hosted in Chalfont St Peter’s Mill Meadow on Saturday, February 15.
The club, which sends donated warm clothing to Ukraine, used the sale to raise additional funds from particularly unique or vintage clothing that would otherwise be wasted.
It was well attended across all age groups. Proceeds from the sale went to the club’s operation, including costs to keep the flow of aid going to Ukraine.
Parish councillor and Kindness Club lead Karen Dickson said: “The community clothing sale came about as a way of encouraging sustainable, pre-loved shopping, to thank our community for their support to spread the word about the work we do. It’s a pleasant outing and an easy way to support a healthy community initiative.
“This year, we have had donations brought in to the club marked specifically for Ukraine’s cold weather, and other bits of jewellery and cool accessories marked for the community clothing sale, so the outreach is definitely working.”
The club’s next sale, the Summer Solstice Sale, is set for Saturday, June 21. It will feature summer items, along with outfits for wedding guests, proms, and other special occasions.
