Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with an incident in Watford. Whilst on proactive burglary patrols in West Watford, police stopped two men in Durban Road West at around 4am on Monday, November 25. The men were found to be in possession of suspected stolen property and were arrested. Aseb Khan, 31, of Durban Road West, was charged with a burglary which occurred in Durban Road East between Sunday, November 24 and Monday, November 25. He was also charged with handling stolen goods. He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on November 27 and was bailed. A 41-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of the same burglary. He has been released on police bail until January 6. Detective Inspector Marcus Bromley said: “We will continue to carry out covert and uniformed patrols across Watford in order to keep residents safe and prevent burglary, which tends to increase at this time of the year. We’d ask residents to remain vigilant to this crime and take note of essential security advice, such as using timer switches on lamps to give the impression somebody is at home, particularly in the afternoon when it starts to get dark.” PHOTO: Durban Road West
