Brave Brooke Cornwell from Watford is terminally ill but refuses to give up hope. The eight-year-old, who was born with a rare blood cell condition called Diamond Blackfan Anaemia, is now using the precious time she has left to experience all of her dreams. You can help make those dreams come true. Local man Ray Murphy has asked clubs and bars in Watford town centre to donate some of next Saturday’s takings (December 14) to little Brooke’s bucket list. At Walkabout, all proceeds from the door will be donated. If you fancy a little bar crawl, you can also visit No.77 (formerly Paparazzi) where they have created a Brooketini cocktail, and will make a decent donation from each Brooketini sold. Que Pasa is selling raffle tickets until the night of the event when they will hold a prize draw. They will also host a onesie evening on the same night where guests are encouraged to don their favourite onesie. Collection buckets will also located at the entrance to these bars as well as Yates, Reflex and Malloys. At the bar of all of these venues you can also request to ‘Buy a drink for Brooke’. This entails paying for a soft drink and, instead of receiving a drink, your money will go straight to Brooke. Ray, whose daughter is a friend of Brooke’s, told My News: “I’m organising the event to help raise money for Watford’s little angel. “I’ve managed to get most of the bars on the street on board, so hopefully it should be a good event.”
