TUB2PUB: Plastic recycling campaign in Kings Langley raises vital funds for charity

Published on: 1st February 2025   |   By: Ellie Rose   |   Category: Uncategorized

A local business is helping residents to recycle while also raising money for charity.

When Alex from Dream Doors heard about the Greene King Tub2Pub recycling campaign, she decided to open a local collection point at her shop for people to make their donations.

The campaign invites people to give in any plastic confectionary or cracker tubs they have collected over the festive period at any Greene King site.

The tubs are then taken to a plastic reprocessing centre where they are shredded and sold to plastic manufacturers to use in place of virgin plastics.

The money raised is donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Speaking to KINGSnews, Alex shared: “I think it is really lovely how many people want to bring in the tubs. People have gone out of their way to bring them in.

“It’s been lovely seeing people and having a busy showroom and to chat to people.”

You can still donate your tubs to your local Greene King pub until Sunday, February 16.
