A Pinner resident has gone above and beyond to raise money for his friend’s cancer treatment.
Between March 12 and 17, Sean Grehan will be walking 85 miles with dog Frankie, following Hadrian’s Wall path from Newcastle to Carlisle.
All money raised from sponsors is going to Lee “Bowzer” Maskell, who recently started his third cycle of chemotherapy following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis at the age of 49.
Sean said: “Lee and I have had a lot of adventures together. Ranging from trips to the races away to a strange experience in the basement of a Magaluf strip club. Lee is a great mate and would do anything for anyone and I want to try and help him and his family through a very difficult time.
“Please sponsor me to help my friend get the treatment he needs.”
Lee’s family’s own fundraiser has already raised more than £30,000 as they hope to arrange a trip to a pioneering pancreatic research & treatment centre, the Champalimaud Foundation, in Portugal.
