A Croxley cricketer who went viral after a rather embarrassing moment was posted online, has turned his fortune around after winning a club trophy.
In September last year, CROXLEYnews reported on Croxley Guild Cricket Club’s Nick Stack, who had a rather embarrassing moment in the 20/20 tournament cup final, when a failed catch meant the ball unfortunately hit Nick in his nether regions.
An image of the incident was posted online, and thousands of responses and jokes came flooding in.
However, his luck has turned around, as Nick is now the proud winner of the Chairman’s Award for the 2023 season.
Club chairman Gordon Dallas spoke to CROXLEYnews and said: “He was ridiculed after the ball in the nether regions incident, so we thought we should celebrate his real effort.
“He’s the nicest guy, and always brings his friends and family to watch the games. He’s so supportive of the club, and although he came to the game later in life, with the effort he puts in, you’d think he’d been doing it for years!”
