The Westfield & Littlebury Family Centre became a part of The Queen’s Green Canopy tree planting initiative on Friday, March 18.
People across the country have been invited to plant a tree to mark the Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The project is focused on planting sustainability to benefit future generations.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, planted the tree in the garden at the family centre, which was decorated with bunting and balloons.
Many families from Baby Cabaret Toddler Group joined the family centre team for tea, cake, music and songs and all babies and children who came along took away some poppy seeds to plant at home and a Union Jack Flag to mark the occasion.
A family centre spokesperson said: “We look forward to seeing the tree grow, and they will be enjoyed by families using the garden at Westfield & Littlebury Family Centre for many years to come.
“Baby Cabaret are members the Parent and Toddler Network, an initiative led by the Family Centre Service to support community groups coming back together after COVID-19.
“The Family Centre Service would like to thank them and Plowright Hinton Ltd for their help and support on the day.”
