Services on the London Northwestern Railway (LNR) route between Northampton and London Euston are currently experiencing severe delays due to a closure caused by a gas leak in Harrow earlier today (August 8th).
According to LNR, the leak came from a five-ton gas tank in the London borough at around midday today, which led to the route being completely suspended. Overhead power lines were switched off whilst emergency services dealt with the situation.
⛔ Due to a lineside gas leak in the #Harrow area – all trains in/out of @NetworkRailEUS are currently stopped ⛔
Emergency services & gas engineers are on site assessing the situation.
All train services will remain suspended for everyone's safety until we know more. https://t.co/bXmVTcfZ57

Though the situation was dealt with at around 12.51pm, and the line has now reopened, LNR have estimated it will take some time before normal service resumes.
????The engineers have completed their work & it is safe for train services to resume????
Due to the location / duration of the closure and knock on displacement of crews & trains, restoring the service may take multiple hours.
????Ticket acceptance will remain in place. https://t.co/gVCWSgLfLY
