Kings Langley Cricket Club have announced the two charities they are set to sponsor this season with both charities holding a special place within the club.
The team’s shirt will now feature logos of the two chosen charities, The British Heart Foundation and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Jamie Calvin a member of the cricket club committee said the charities will help to honour previous team player Dave Percy who sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack on the pitch.
He said: “The charities will honour people close to the club and also help raise money and awareness of the charity.
“Supporting a charity is quite a good way to remember someone when and a way to raise awareness of the charities.”
In supporting CRY, the club will also be honouring Dale Butler who was known throughout the village sadly passed from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
The hope is that in the next few months the club can host a charity game and other events to support both charities, raising awareness for them and honouring loved ones.
