The Croxley Green Trefoil group, an adult branch of Girlguiding has installed a new bird bath in the village in memory of a late member.
The basin is located near the path by St Oswalds Church, close to the herb garden, along with a commemorative plaque on the fence behind.
It is in memory of Margaret Course, who was a member of the Girl Guiding Association for most of her life. She joined Brownies in 1936 at the age of seven and was a member of Croxley Trefoil Guild when she sadly passed away in 2019, having continued faithfully as a member of the Girl Guiding Association wherever she was living.
The bird bath has been purchased with money donated to the Croxley Trefoil Guild by Margaret’s family in her memory. The group decided to purchase the bath as Margaret was a member of St Oswalds Church for many years and volunteered as ‘Squirrel’ with the 3rd Brownie pack who met at the Church Hall at the time.
On Saturday, February 19, Rev. Robert dedicated the bird bath in the presence of Margaret’s family, her son and two of her three daughters along with members of Croxley Trefoil Guild.
It is hoped the bird bath will be maintained by the Trefoil group along with Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in Croxley Green.
