On Saturday, November 16, British boccia athletes battled it out at the UK Championships in Largs, Scotland. Hosted by Scottish Disability Sport, the competitors included Paralympians Patrick Wilson, Will Arnott, and Sally Kidson.
Boccia is an indoor Paralympic sport in which athletes throw, kick or use a ramp to propel a ball onto the court.
On the Saturday, Reshad defeated his opponents Sian Jones 8-0, James Clowes 5-1, and Alex Medley 11-0, to make it to the semi-final.
The following day, Reshad continued his winning streak and beat Will Hipwell 6-2. He claimed the gold medal after defeating Kayleigh Brown of Scotland 4-2 in the final.
Speaking to Pinner news, new BC2 champion Reshad said: “I’m delighted to have won this year’s UK championships in Largs. This competition was a real challenge, but amazing for me to finish the year with another gold medal.
“A lot of hard work went into the performance, and I couldn’t be happier. Moving forward, I’m hoping to use this as a springboard for more opportunities to compete internationally. Watch this space!”
