Watford-born boxer Anthony Joshua learnt his lessons from that stunning defeat in June to become a two-time world heavyweight champion after beating Andy Ruiz Jr.
AJ won with a unanimous points victory over the Mexican in a tense rematch in Saudi Arabia last night (December 7).
The bout went the full 12 rounds as neither boxer looked close to landing a knockdown and when the scores were read out – 118-110 118-110 and 119-109 – Joshua jumped up and down in the ring in celebration.
Having now regained his WBA, IBF and WBO titles, Joshua can focus his sights on becoming the first undisputed heavyweight king since Lennox Lewis.
My hope is that someone sees my page and decides not to give up. Clean hearts win ???? pic.twitter.com/yBrHeLq19q
