Berkhamsted FC failed to go top of the league table this evening (December 7) following a 1-0 defeat to Yaxley FC.
The Comrades were bitterly disappointed to not come away with a draw but the home side held on tight to secure the win even when they went down to 10 men.
Cuckoos’ Aaron Butcher was sent off handling the ball outside the box and then Daniel Cotton popped up with the winner 20 minutes from time.
Joint manager Lee Bircham tweeted: “Really disappointing result today. Lost a game that was at the very minimum a draw Boys have been superb so far this season but just didn’t do enough for a team “challenging” Hopefully a little wake up call. Wonder what we’ll be doing at training Wednesday now.”
Elsewhere the BetVictor Southern Central Division leaders Corby Town also lost this evening, meaning Berkhamsted stay two points adrift from the top.
More to follow.
