DATE SET: Man accused of murdering mother in Bovingdon to appear in court next year

A man accused of the murder of his mother and attempted murder of his father at Bovingdon in Hertfordshire is due to go on trial on March 20 next year.

Ashley Howse, now 36, is charged with attacking Julia Howse, 61, and Richard Howse, 62, at their home in Austin’s Mead in Bovingdon on Saturday, December 11 last year (2021).

Today (Monday, December 19) at Luton Crown Court Judge Michael Simon was told that a court psychiatrist had said he was fit to plead to the charges.

A psychiatrist on behalf of the prosecution is due to see Ashley Howse, who is being detained at a mental health unit, in the New Year.

The case will next be before the court on Friday, January 27.
