Three Rivers District Council has clamped down on both businesses and residents who do not dispose of their waste correctly.
Recently a number of people have been prosecuted at St Albans Magistrates Court for offences relating to waste disposal with some receiving fines in excess of £1400, including director of Coyote Courier LTD, Sergio Rodrigues.
Sergio pleaded guilty to ‘failing in duty of care as a person who acted as a broker in the disposal of controlled waste’ and received a fine of £1475.
The clampdown comes alongside a new initiative being launched by the council to help reduce fly-tipping.
Cllr Phil Brading, Lead Member for Public Services, said: “Three Rivers District Council would like to remind all residents and businesses to dispose of waste correctly. March 2018 sees the launch of a county-wide initiative to tackle fly tipping which has been put together by the Hertfordshire Fly Tipping Group.”
