Chalfont St Peter responded to their 6-1 hammering two weeks ago by beating FC Romania 1-2 away from home.
Despite the name, Chalfont St Peter only had to drive down to Cheshunt to play their opponents today not travel halfway across Europe.
The Saints start to the game didn’t go to plan as they found themselves one nil down early on to their opponents who were sitting bottom of the league.
However, 15 minutes later, they found themselves level after a real scrappy goal by Williams as he had four attempts, twice off the line by the keeper then off the crossbar before it eventually went in. 1-1.
It was level at break and The Saints made a substitution to try and get more control of the game. Sodike replaced Jonesy.
Chalfont struggled to make any real impact on the second half after a penalty shout was turned away by the referee.
Against the run of play, Chalfont grabbed the winner after Williams robbed the defender of possession and slotted home to make it 1-2.
Chalfont nearly scored a third in the dying moments of the game but a double save by the keeper kept it 1-2.
A Williams brace was all that was needed for The Saints who are sitting tenth in the table (at the time of writing) after their win today.
Chalfont next play away at Westfield on December 7.
