Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident in Bushey.
At around 2.40pm yesterday (Thursday, January 16), officers received reports that a man was being threatened with a knife inside Tesco Express on Harcourt Road. No injuries were reported.
Officers were subsequently informed that a 17-year-old male was reportedly assaulted on the corner of Moatfield Road and Harcourt Road before being put into a black Range Rover, which was then driven from the scene.
Officers attended and, with the help of colleagues from the National Police Air Service, tracked the vehicle travelling on Geddes Road in Bushey.
The vehicle was brought to a stop before the suspects fled the area, leaving the victim inside without serious injuries. Following fast-time enquiries, officers arrested three people in connection with the incident at around 4pm, and they remain in custody for questioning.
Several bladed weapons were recovered from the Range Rover and have been seized.
Detective Constable Daisy Dopson, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “I appreciate the nature of this incident is concerning, and thanks to the quick work of officers at the scene we have been able to make three arrests. Detectives are continuing to piece together the full circumstances of the incident.
“We are urging anyone who may have seen any part of this incident to please contact police.
“If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant you think the details you have may be, please email me directly at Daisy.Dopson@herts.police.uk”
