SHENLEY FETE: Event to be held in honour of popular late chairman

Published on: 6th February 2024   |   By: Amy Pollard   |   Category: Uncategorized

Shenley Village Fete 2024 will be held in honour of former chairman and beloved Shenley resident Justin Posner, who passed away after a collision with a bus on August 30 of last year.

Over the past four years, Justin had run the catering facilities at Shenley Village Fete, not only paying for everything himself but also donating the profits towards the local charities supported each year by the fete.

Returning chairman Guy Beaton hopes that this year’s event, which will be held on Sunday, July 7, will once again raise funds for local charities and organisations in honour of Justin’s generosity.

Last year, organisers donated £9,000 to worthy causes, including Shenley Women’s Institute and the Sir Richard Cox Charity, which assists disadvantaged local families.

This year, the main attraction at the fete will be a circus performance featuring the Vander Superheroes Double Space Wheel, dubbed “the best aerial stunt act in Europe” by Shenley Village Matters.

Entry to the fete will cost £1 on the day. Prospective sponsors and stall-holders are invited to contact Guy Beaton at guynicky@aol.com
