Hemel Hempstead Town are in third place in the National League South this afternoon after a 2-0 win against Chelmsford City at Vauxhall Road.
After a quiet first half, the visitors were reduced to ten men after half time when Alex Wall was elbowed. The striker was substituted three minutes into the second half.
After the break, the home side started to take advantage of their numerical advantage but it wasn’t until the 75th minute when Hemel finally went in front. Sam Ashford was played through by Luke Howell and slotted the ball past the keeper.
Just over five minutes later, Ashford won the Tudors a penalty after he was fouled. The spot kick was converted by Jack Midson.
The Tudors travel to Tonbridge next weekend.
