Residents are becoming increasingly frustrated with ongoing parking problems at The Rutts, where a large number of vehicles are blocking access to Bushey Heath Primary School and causing problems for neighbours.
One resident said in a letter to local Councillors: “As you are probably aware, we have a serious parking problem in the Rutts. The residents are being passed from pillar to post amongst the various agencies, as no one seems to be wanting to get involved in resolving this problem.
“This situation is causing great concerns amongst many residents, who are beside themselves. We have reported this to the Hertfordshire Constabulary and have been advised they are looking into it.”
Another resident said: “This has been going on since the beginning of May. We have been in touch with the Police and the council. Vehicles are parked on both sides of the road and it’s causing us all sorts of problems.”
Councillor Jean Heywood, Portfolio Holder for Transport, told BusheyNews: “We are aware of this matter and understand the frustrations and concerns it is causing local residents and people visiting the area.
“We have already written to the apparent owner of the vehicles asking them to consider finding an alternative location to leave the vehicles. Alongside this action, we are also looking at a number of other alternatives to resolve this matter where we have powers to do so and have advised the police, Hertfordshire County Council as the local highway authority and the DVLA.
Between us and these agencies there are a number of options we will pursue as well as continuing to encourage the owner to move them elsewhere.”
