The long-term future of a much-loved Tring bookshop has been secured after its owners completed the purchase of the building.
Ben Moorhouse first opened Our Bookshop five years ago and, in that time, it has become a vital part of the community.
However, its future was in doubt as the lease approached the end of its five-year term and the owner of the building wanted to sell.
This led to a crowdfunding appeal earlier this year, which raised an incredible £55,770 in just 30 days so Our Bookshop could buy the building.
The legal process to purchase the property was completed on Thursday, September 26.
Ben said: “We now have control over our future and this ensures the long-term existence of Our Bookshop in Tring. Coincidently, this came five years to the day since we opened the shop.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported the shop, our events, and the book festival over those years. And a massive thank you to everyone who supported the crowdfunding campaign earlier this year which ensured we could keep the bookshop in Tring. We can now finally say we’ve done it.”
