Many deserving Hertfordshire residents as well as organisations have started to receive the Hero of Hertfordshire certificates and badges as a thank you for their hard work during the COVID19 crisis.
Amid all the suffering and anxiety caused by the coronavirus pandemic, volunteers across Hertfordshire have shown courage and resilience in helping some of the most vulnerable.
From keeping people supplied with basics during lockdowns, to helping the elderly and confused protect themselves.
Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, said: “I decided that so many people in Hertfordshire have done many amazing things during the COVID19 crisis, going the extra mile and more, that they needed to be thanked and as a show of appreciation I invited the High Sheriff to join me in sending them certificates and badges.”
So far about 200 have been sent out with more to follow in the coming weeks and months.
Many of the recipients have expressed their thanks on social media.
