TERRIFIC TREK: Berkhamsted woman takes on half marathon to raise funds for children’s charity

A Berkhamsted resident has completed a half marathon to raise money for charity in memory of her friend’s late brother.

Abby Imlah ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, April 7. The 13-mile race follows a route taking in some of the capital’s most iconic locations, including Big Ben, the Tower of London and The Shard.

Through the race, Abby raised funds for Variety, the Children’s Charity, which provides support to disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK. She was inspired by the memory of her close friend’s brother, who had lived with a disability and sadly recently passed away.

Abby said: “I’m running for Variety because my best friend lost her brother, unfortunately.

“He was disabled his whole life and I know that the work that Variety does would have given him a better time in hospital with the Sunshine Coaches, which would have given him better experiences.”

The Sunshine Coaches are an initiative run by Variety, providing fully accessible transport for disabled children.

So far, Abby has raised £470. To donate, visit the fundraiser.
