More than 50 people, mostly youngsters, braved rainy conditions on Sunday, March 26, to take part in Croxley Tennis Club’s successful Juniors Open Day event.
With the aim of giving children and teenagers from across the Croxley area a taster of tennis, the youth coaches were on hand to put the young attendees through their paces and teach them a thing or two about the sport.
New coach Karen, who joined the club in February, was on hand to help introduce some of the younger children to tennis, using specialised games and drills. She also taught a few of them some game skills, supported by the club’s newly qualified tennis leaders.
Fellow youth coach Brian had the role of running events for the older attendees and put them through some full games.
Members of the club’s committee were also on hand, and there was, cakes and biscuits available throughout the afternoon.
The club’s Junior programme has now begun its new season, with practice taking place at various points in the week and on weekends. To find out more about the club, visit their website.
