A 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbery following an incident in Watford last Sunday (January 1).

At around 4.20pm, the victim was walking along Clarendon Road when he was approached by three males. It is alleged that he was physically assaulted and threatened, before his coat and bag were stolen.

Officers attended and arrested the male in connection with the incident.

Two other males made off on foot but officers later arrested two 17-year-olds suspected to be involved. They have since been released on bail with conditions while investigations continue.

The 16-year-old male from Watford was subsequently charged with robbery. Following his arrest, he was also charged with two further counts of robbery in relation to two separate incidents in September and October (2022), and two counts of witness intimidation.

He appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 4, where he was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 9 February.
