Hertfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in South Oxhey yesterday evening (Friday, January 6).

A 22-year-old male was stabbed in the buttock and sprayed with an unknown liquid during an altercation near the Everyone Active leisure centre in Gosforth Lane at around 6.45pm.

The male received treatment from paramedics and has been taken to hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-changing at this time.

Inspector Chris Kouwenberg said: “We believe there were witnesses to the incident who we have not yet spoken to, including a man who shortly after the incident told staff at the leisure centre that he had seen it.

“We are keen to speak to this person or anyone use who has information that would be helpful to our investigation.”

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 665 of 6 January.
