St Albans City Youth FC were delighted to partner with the St Albans Community Pantry over the weekend of December 9.
The club and charity came together to collect boxes of donated items from the community, including eggs, vegetables, fruit, hygiene products, milk, flour, and cooking oil.
St Albans Community Pantry acts as a hybrid between a food bank and a food rescue operation. Every week they prepare more than 150 boxes with a combination of essential items to be offered to people most in need in the St Albans community.
Club operations manager Andy Lawrence commented: “As a club, we are delighted that many of our player’s families and members associated with St Albans City Youth FC will get behind this really important initiative helping us support the incredible work the Community Pantry volunteers do helping individuals and families in need, across our district and city.
“It’s a great way for us as a club to further support the communities we serve.”
