“TALENT & DEDICATION”: Garston fencing superstar claims gold in British Championships

A Garston pupil and rising star in the world of fencing recently won gold in the U17 British Championships.

Hui Xin, 15, attended the competition at the University of Nottingham on Saturday, September 14, and came out with a gold medal in hand.

The star attends Parmiter’s School in Garston and trains at the Paul Davis Fencing Academy in St Albans.

Speaking to GARSTONnews, academy director Paul Davis said: “Hui Xin has captured the attention of the fencing community with her extraordinary achievement of winning the U17 British Championships, alongside her victories in the U15 England and U16 British Championships – all within the same year.

“This remarkable feat not only showcases her talent but also her dedication and hard work in a competitive sport that demands precision, agility, and mental fortitude.

“With her talent, dedication, and exceptional training, Hui Xin is undoubtedly a name to watch.”

Hui Xin’s father thanked coaches Alex, Bela and Bryn, and the academy as a whole.
