On Saturday, January 24, Croxley Green residents laced up for the first Holywell King George V Playing Fields Parkrun.
Over 200 people took on the course along the Ebury Way. Once a disused railway, the path became alive with laughter, cheers, and the patter of trainers.
Watford Borough Council (WBC) supported the launch, with resident councillor Tim Williams and Croxley councillor Chris Lloyd joining.
Councillor Caroline Roche and Mayor Peter Taylor also came to celebrate the opening. Volunteers, led by Desrae Le Roux and Louise Smith, ensured everything ran smoothly, and the finish-line cake was a hit.
The first male finisher, Olmo Velayos Hernando, crossed in 16.33, while Clare Kemp led the women in 22.20. Many participants were first timers, but seasoned park runners also hit milestones of 250, 555, and 572 runs.
The team is seeking volunteers. Find out more at www.shorturl.at/qmaw9
For Croxley residents, the run was a celebration of community, fitness, and fun.
