A private girls’ school in Northwood has announced its newest headteacher, who will take over the institution later this year.

Bridget Ward will be the new headteacher of St Helen’s School on Eastbury Road, effective as of September 2024.

She will be taking the reins from interim headteacher Tracy Pollard, who has been in the role since July 2023.

Mrs Ward will leave her position as head of Merchant Taylors’ Girls’ School in Liverpool to take up her new role. She was previously deputy head at Woldingham School in Surrey and the director of academic administration and compliance at Queen’s Gate School, London.

Speaking about her appointment, Mrs Ward said: “It is an exceptional privilege to have been invited to be the new head at St Helen’s School.

“I very much look forward to getting to know everyone and working with students, staff, parents and governors to further embed our vision for a unique, innovative and outstanding education.”
