The Chorleywood Parish Council is inviting people to take part in the Chorleywood in Bloom’s front garden competition.
The Best Kept Front Garden Competition is new this year and it’s open to all village residents with colourful, well-landscaped, productive or wildlife front gardens.
Cllr Steve Watkins said: “this is open to all residents of Chorleywood and is an ideal opportunity to show off all your hard work.
“With lots of categories to enter there is something for everyone, young and old alike.”
Judging will be in Late July so get your entries in by July 10 to ensure the judges have you on their list!
Front gardens will be assessed on a number of criteria, these include a pleasing first impression; variety of plants or produce range, with few or no weeds; good planning in layout and selection of plants; tidy appearance; sustainable use of biodiversity, and a few more criteria.
There is no entry fee and gardens of any size, which are regularly maintained, can enter the competition, they do need to be visible from the road so that the judges can visit.
