A published author from Bushey has released his second book, 10 years after the first, called Take Cover! which is all about his experiences as a cover support teacher in local schools a few years ago.
Spike Webb’s profession has been a copywriter for the majority of his life, but as he’s gotten older the freelance work has been less frequent, and a few years ago he found himself not earning enough money to pay his bills.
This led him to apply to being a cover support teacher at schools in Hertfordshire.
The book describes all the trials of being a teacher, plus more of life’s unexpected bombshells, some shocking, some hilarious and some strangely moving
Speaking to BusheyNews, Spike said: “Whilst I was a teacher, I started to write all of the memories down and basically turned it into a journal.
“One thing’s for sure, though: whatever you remember from your school days, it’s very different on the other side.”
