SWIM-CREDIBLE: Watford Swim Club members win 230 medals at county championships

Watford Swimming Club (WSC) stormed to victory in the recent Hertfordshire County Championships.

Over the four-week competition in January and February, 70 WSC members earned 230 medals. Out of the 18 clubs attending the competition, WSC secured the top spot in the medal table.

Speaking to WATFORDnews, WSC head coach Jamie Irvine said: “I’m delighted with the individual and club results at this year’s county championships. The swimmers and coaches have worked incredibly hard and it’s great to see the club being so successful at county level.”

Assistant head coach Tom Sullivan said: “I am bursting with pride as I reflect on our performances at the recent county championships. Being crowned the top club in the county is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our swimmers and coaches. I am delighted to have played a part in our collective success and look forward to even greater achievements ahead.”

A spokesperson for Watford Borough Council said: “Emerging as champions and topping the medal table is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and undeniable talent. What a phenomenal start to the season for WSC. Here’s to many more victories ahead!”
