Swan spread their wings to help Grenfell victims

One of the South East’s leading window companies has been spreading a little happiness to people who were affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy last year.

Swan Windows, who are based at Beesons’ Yard, Bury Lane, Rickmansworth, appeared on DIY SOS Big Build-Grenfell last month to help with the program’s biggest and longest build yet – constructing a new home for the Dale Youth Boxing Club which was destroyed in the blaze and building a two storey community centre.

The company already appeared on the programme earlier this year when they were asked to supply new windows on a house for Kris Aves, a police officer who was left seriously injured after the London Bridge terrorist attacks last year.

Ivana Swan, marketing manager, said the company were asked to help in this month’s episode a month after their previous appearance had aired.

She said: “They needed someone  to source, supply and install the fire rated windows. We were over the moon. We realised the importance of the project and how much it matters to the community, as they lost everything.”

Ivana said the Swan Windows team were thrilled and honoured to be able to help.

She added: “We were completely blown away. It’s also about being able to give something back to a community that was torn apart. It’s just so sad. Even small contributions benefit the community so greatly.”
