A Radlett mum who was given three months to live over a year ago is continuing to battle cancer with money raised largely by Radlett residents.
Mother of four, Melissa Crampton, has gone through various treatments to deal with different forms of cancer – with some of that treatment being in Germany.
Radlett residents have helped raise £52,000 for her so far.
Melissa said: “I have now had nine immunotherapy and hyperthermia treatments, with six left to go. So far we have spent just under £63,000 on treatment, travel and accommodation, with another £42,000 to spend on the remaining vaccines.
“I am still utterly blown away by all the help we received last year. Radlett is an amazing place.
“The largest tumour has shrunk considerably. This time last year it was 8cm, at my last scan it was 3.4cm. I’m going in for my 45th chemo next week. Another tumour has disappeared completely and the tumours on my spine have all remained stable or appear better.
“Although I’m still very aware that I will never get rid of this cancer and it will take my life eventually, I have definitely been given a lot longer and I promise to continue fighting for my life as long as I can.
“My husband, children and family continue to be the most amazing support. They are remarkable.”
