Not all superheroes wear capes – some simply carry spades and gardening forks.
When the necessary thinning of trees needed to take place at a woodland trust plant in the village, the Tree Guardians of Chalfont St Peter worked together to save the day.
Rob, Simon and John moved two trees – a native beech and sweet chestnut – from the plant to a new site in the village.
Expected to grow for over 300 years, the trees could possibly still be around in 2625.
Speaking to CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews, parish councillor Kate Southworth said: “Hurrah to the Tree Guardians of Chalfont St Peter! Thank you, Rob, Simon and John, with a triumphant spade wave!
“[The move] was worth every back-breaking moment… how often do we manage to do something, whose benefits last so far into the future?”
