A young boy from Croxley Green recently came away from a national martial arts championship with a silver medal.

Luke Huscroft, aged 11, battled hard to receive a well-earned second place prize at the Taekwondo Chungdokwan GB National Championships in Twickenham this May.

He earned the medal along with his teammates Ashen and Noah, with all three of them training at Leventis Taekwondo in Leavesden.

The event was made extra special by the attendance of Grandmaster Shin Byeong Hyun of South Korea, who has the highest rank (9th Dan) in the field of Taekwondo Luke partakes in.

In celebration of a special anniversary tour, Grandmaster Shin even very kindly gifted a special piece of writing to Luke, which can be seen in the picture to the right.

Speaking about his experience and the opportunity to practice Taekwondo in front of the Grandmaster, Luke said: “It was an honour and incredible to compete in front of him!”
