After a short break, the Cobra Explorer Scout Unit is relaunching this April as part of the 1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group.
The group is open to anyone aged between 14 and 18. Any adults who would like to support the group behind the scenes are also encouraged to get in touch.
The group challenges young people to work with their peers and learn life skills in a healthy environment. Explorers can also earn their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award along the way.
James Blachford, group Scout leader, said: “Explorers gives young people a chance to do things they’d never experience anywhere else — from car maintenance to jumping off cliffs into the sea, all while having a laugh and building friendships.”
An action-packed year has been planned, including building rafts to float on the Thames, piloting a canal boat, go-kart racing, paintballing, expeditions across the South Downs, and even a MasterChef-style cooking challenge.
Explorers will also help to run fundraising projects and transform the group’s dedicated Explorer room.
